FAQ

Straight answers before you enquire

Practical answers about solar panels, battery storage, EV chargers, maintenance and Holicon Climate. Anything that depends on grants, product specs or approvals should be confirmed at survey stage.

Will solar panels work if my roof is not south-facing?

Often, yes. East and west-facing roofs can still perform well. Holicon will look at orientation, shading, roof shape and how you use electricity before recommending a layout.

Can I add a battery to existing solar panels?

In many cases, yes. The first step is checking the existing inverter, wiring, monitoring and available space, then deciding whether an AC-coupled retrofit or a different route makes sense.

Can an EV charger use spare solar power?

Yes, with the right charger and setup. Solar-aware chargers can prioritise surplus generation when it is available, while still giving you faster grid charging when you need it.

What paperwork does a solar installation involve?

A good install is not just panels on a roof. It may involve grid notification or application, structural checks, product registration, handover documents and monitoring setup.

What maintenance can Holicon help with?

Maintenance can include system health checks, fault finding, monitoring issues, inverter replacement, bird protection and sensible upgrades.

Is Holicon Climate connected to Holicon Energy?

Yes. Holicon Climate is the heating and cooling route for air source heat pump and air conditioning enquiries, with the same practical approach.

Are grants available for heat pumps?

Grant rules change, so Holicon will point you toward the current route during the enquiry or survey stage rather than promising eligibility upfront.

Can air conditioning heat as well as cool?

Many systems can provide heating and cooling, but the right product and installation route depends on the room, property and usage.
